Ticket to Work is a federal program from the Social Security Administration for SSI and SSDI beneficiaries between the ages of 18 to 64. The program provides access to FREE career development services to assist you in returning to the workforce while also helping you protect your benefits while testing your ability to work. Ticket to Work is designed to give you a pathway to financial independence.
An ERS Career Coach will work with you to develop a custom work plan for returning to work; identify your career goals and services required to assist you in achieving your goals.
Your Career Coach utilizes the work plan and support services to help you find employment based on your goals and needs; this includes preparing resumes and interview preparation.
Once employed, your Career Coach will maintain periodic contact with you to encourage and support you as you make progress in the program. Additional resources such as vocational training and educational opportunities, benefits counseling, and more are available to help you make the most of your current job or aid you in advancing within your career.
We work diligently to provide a variety of support and assistance services for a variety of scenarios in order to keep your path to financial independence as open as possible. Services can include identifying affordable transportation or housing based on your location and needs.
Sometimes it's hard for me to express myself. Sometimes I get lost or off track but my Career Coach has had a lot of patience with me and has even helped me fill out job applications..
Right after signing up for Ticket to Work Program with ERS I started receiving support - they assisted me with my resume, which helped increased my confidence to go out there and try. The staff helped me overcome my barriers.
ERS partners with the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work Program to provide individualized career counseling and support services to Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients.
